This morning, you’ll be met at your hotel by your expert local guide, ready to head out and get your first taste of Thailand. Our first stop is the Grand Palace, a majestic complex that served as the residence of the Kings of Thailand for over two centuries. Marvel at the intricate design and craftsmanship of the buildings, walls, and gardens, the intricately detailed murals, and learn about the history and significance of this impressive landmark.
Next, we’ll hop on a tuk-tuk for a short, but exciting ride to Wat Pho, one of the oldest and largest temples in Bangkok. Famous for its reclining Buddha statue, Wat Pho is also home to numerous other Buddha images, impressive architecture, and beautiful murals. Take your time to explore the temple grounds and soak in the peaceful atmosphere.
After we have finished exploring Wat Pho, we’ll make a short journey over to Wat Prayun, a lesser-known but equally impressive temple complex, built during the reign of King Rama III in the 19th-century, which boasts a unique stupa design and serene atmosphere. The temple is located on the banks of the Chao Phraya River, offering stunning views across the water and surrounding areas.
Following this, we’ll take a quick break from sightseeing to enjoy a delicious Thai lunch at a local restaurant.
Next, it’s time to try a different mode of transport as we take a short longtail boat ride through the khlongs (canals) of Bangkok. This is a great way to experience the local way of life, see traditional wooden houses and local shops, and escape the hustle and bustle of the city for a while.
Our final stop will be the Mahanakorn Tower, one of Bangkok’s tallest skyscrapers. More intrepid travellers may wish to step out on the glass-floored observation deck and skywalk located on the 74th floor. From here, you can enjoy panoramic views of the city and take in the stunning sunset scenery.
This day out in Bangkok offers a perfect mix of history, culture, relaxation, and adventure and is a great way to experience the best of Bangkok in a day.

Hop into one of Thailand’s most iconic modes of transport, the Tuk Tuk, and ride through some of Bangkok’s coolest, and tastiest, neighbourhoods. We’ll kick off with a departure from your hotel by private Tuk Tuk at 5 pm. Whip through the streets of Bangkok on the way to sample a few popular local dishes and street side snacks.
The first stop will be Bangrak, a trendy district just a short distance from the Chao Phraya River. Spend some time exploring the Bangrak Bazaar and the surrounding streets as your guide introduces you to some more tasty treats.
Chinatown is the next stop on the list, a chaotic community that is well known for its delicious street-side food stalls. The first stop here will be exploring Chinatown’s Yaowarat Road, a highlight of the city famed for the spectacular array of street food hawkers. Finally, we’ll diverge onto Chinatown’s Soi Nana and Maitri Chit Road, home to an eclectic mix of cafes and hip bars. We’ll explore some more unique flavours and street food treats throughout Chinatown before ending the journey with a couple of options.
Families with children may prefer to go and sample some delicious dessert stalls offering freshly made soy milk and sweet dumplings, while adult groups may wish to pay a visit to Tep Bar (at their own expense). Tep Bar offers a trendy hangout paying homage to all things Thai. They have Thai xylophones and cymbals, Thai tapas and cocktails with names borne from ancient Thai lore. Dine on tapas which is served a-la-carte – we recommend the moo sarong (pork balls wrapped in yellow noodle and fried) and the Khao Kriab wow (rice cracker served with chilli paste). For friskier travellers, try a shot of Ya Dong (Thai moonshine infused with herbs).
The trip will end around 9 pm, but you have the option to hang around. Should you choose to stay later, your guide can give you advice and directions on how to return to the hotel.
Please Note: The above routing is subject to change. We can tailor the routing based on your interests and particular preferences.

Within a country that’s known for its culture and cuisine, Chiang Mai makes a strong case for the top spot in both areas. A defensive moat still encircles the Old City, along with the countless temples, restaurants, and markets squeezed inside of it. Venture outside of the city limits and Chiang Mai is surrounded by national parks on nearly every side, along with plenty of mountaintop temples and elephant sanctuaries to visit.
Why we love it for you: 137 Pillars House is a luxurious boutique hotel in Chiang Mai that offers a perfect blend of traditional Thai elegance and modern comforts. Set in a beautifully restored teak wood building dating back to the late 1800s, the hotel features 30 exquisite suites, each thoughtfully designed and equipped with top-notch amenities. With its exceptional service, stunning architecture, lush gardens, and prime location near the city's historical and cultural attractions, 137 Pillars House provides an unforgettable stay for discerning travelers seeking a truly unique and indulgent experience in Chiang Mai.
137 Pillars House
1x RAJAH BROOKE SUITE
One king bed or Hollywood twin bed suite with balcony, en-suite bathroom with Victorian bathtub, indoor and outdoor garden showers
Depart the hotel at 08:30am to board a private Tuk Tuk and begin to explore the history and culture of Chiang Mai. Nicknamed the ‘Rose of the North’, Chiang Mai has blossomed into a vibrant city that captures both the spirituality and modernisation of Thailand where craft beer and contemporary restaurants have sprouted up amongst gilded temples. Today will start with a visit to Warorot Market, a ramshackle collection of food, textiles, and homeware vendors. There’s ample opportunity to mix with locals out for the day’s shopping and have the chance to taste a few Thai snacks.
Our next stop will be Wat Chedi Luang. Famed for its enormous chedi which once housed the Emerald Buddha that now sits on the grounds of the Grand Palace in Bangkok. When possible, your guide will assist you with digging deeper into Buddhist beliefs and practices as you learn from one of Chedi Luang’s revered monks.
Once more, board your Tuk Tuk, and head for Wat Sri Suphan. The temples façade, roof and Buddha statues are all covered in silver, contrasting it with most of Thailand’s gilded temples. This came about as the temple was built in the 1500s to serve the local silversmith village which, in turn, paid homage to the temple by donating silver. After visiting the temple, wander the surrounding alleys to see the local silversmiths that still call the neighbourhood home.
The final visit of the day will be to Wat Phra Singh, where you will have the opportunity to see the temple’s remarkable murals and explore the splendour of the temple grounds.
Lunch will be enjoyed at a local restaurant before the day comes to an end and you return to your hotel.

Just a short 30-minute drive north of Chiang Mai, the Mae Rim area is home to wonderful northern Thai scenery of rice terraces, tropical rainforest, and meandering rivers.
In the lush region around Chiang Mai, wherever there are rivers, there are waterfalls – and Mae Sa is one of the most popular to visit. Situated within Doi Suthep-Pui national park, the waterfall cuts through pristine, untouched forest – a peaceful, tranquil setting that seems a million miles away from the city.
The Mae Sa waterfall actually consists of 10 sperate mini-falls, each cascading into the next. A hiking trail follows the path of the falls, and it is only just over 1km in length, reflecting how close each fall is to the next. On a particularly hot day, it is a wonderful relieving experience to escape the humidity by taking a rejuvenating dip in the plunge pools between each fall. There are a couple of allocated spots for visitors to do this safely.
Adjacent to the falls, there are numerous idyllic picnic spots to enjoy lunch. A delicious picnic style menu will be professionally prepared by a local culinary master using organically grown produce from her farm. Snack on sai-oua – a local northern Thai delicacy – which is a deliciously spicy sausage that can pack a punch. Enjoy these alongside puff pastry rolls, fresh garden rolls, little banana-leaf wrapped surprises, and either seasonal fruits or traditional Thai rice desserts.
All-round, the national park area is a wonderful place to relax, listen to the birds accompanied by the pulsating rhythm of the water, and enjoy a serene setting so close to the city. The short walk is manageable for everybody, but enough to work up an appetite for that delicious Thai lunch.

The multicolor descriptions of Chiang Rai’s top sights—White Temple, Emerald Buddha, Black House, Blue Temple—are an indication that it’s one of Thailand’s most eye-catching cities (the surrounding mountains don’t hurt, either). But walk around the outdoor markets and taste and smell become the main sensory pleasures. It won’t take long to train your nose to lead to you the stall with the best khao soi, a North Thai specialty.
Why we love it for you: The Anantara is a luxury lodge nestled over the confluence of the Mekong and Ruak rivers, in the famous Golden Triangle. The resort includes traditional spa facilities, as well as an infinity pool, fitness center, sauna, squash and tennis courts, and a Thai cooking school. The dramatic high column-lined entrance, wooden carvings and artwork throughout the property are reminiscent of a Lanna palace, appropriate for a luxury hotel perched at the gateway to Indochina. A defining attribute is the resort’s very own elephant camp situated within the property. A variety of activities with the elephants are offered as well as other activities and tours.
